blongfishing Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Just bought a new (used) boat that already had electronics on it. I had graphs off of my old boat sitting in my closet so I figured 'the more, the merrier' and decided to add one of them to the console (the existing unit also didn't have side scan and my unit off the old boat does). I am trying to figure out how to configure my transducers. The unit already on the boat has a transducer epoxied to the hull. I'd like to avoid drilling holes in the boat. My questions are: 1. Can I epoxy them both to the hull? 2. If so, will I get interference? 3. If I drill holes and add the transducer to the back off the boat will I still get interference with them being 2-3' apart? If it helps, the units are Lowrance Elite 7HDI (HDI Skimmer Transducer) and Lowrance Hook2 (long, weird looking triple shot transducer). Also important to add that the cables are different so I'm unable to network them together. Thanks in advance as always! Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 1, 2019 Super User Posted April 1, 2019 Interference is caused by units running the same kHz. I am not familiar with those transducers but if your units let you choose different frequencies then don't run them on the same kHz. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted April 1, 2019 Global Moderator Posted April 1, 2019 ^^^^this as long as they’re different frequencies you won’t have interference Quote
