Looking for a new bottom contact rod to pair with my chronarch mgl. I was thinking a Xtasy, but does anyone have other suggestions?

Abu Garcia Villain 2.0.

Or, if you want to match that feathery reel to a feathery rod, the Phenix Feather is a good choice (get the heavy, they fish pretty light).

Though if you're thinking of dropping that kind of cash on an Xtasy, you might as well get an NRX

Stop your research and get the NRX 873 CCR !

Trust me - this is a beast !

NRX 893, 894, and 873 are going to be the most popular in that line depending on what weight and type of bait you are throwing. My favorites of those three is the 894 if if are at a 1/2 ounce jig and trailer. If you are throwing lighter Texas rigs than the 893 is your go to. The 894 in my opinion does everything the 873 can do just as well.

I was considering the 895 if I was going to go with the NRX. I feel like that’s a good option considering I throw 3/4 oz jigs plus trailer occasionally.

I've got a Chronarch matched up with a Destroyer FMJ, it fishes like a dream. Great rod for jigs and weighted Texas rigs, but also fishes spinnerbaits and chatterbaits really well too. Sweet spot is 1/2 oz jigs with trailers, but I've fished my fair share of 3/4 oz with trailers too and it handles it well.

Considering the MGL, guessing your budget is over my experience

I have both Daemos and FMJ.

The Daemos is great with lighter jigs and T-rigs. The FMJ handles 1/2 oz jigs nicely.

Daemos paired with an Aldebaran HG. FMJ is topped with a Core 100MG7.

Both are quite sensitive.

I suggest a highend lght weight custom build rod. NRX rods suggested are not a lightweight rods, over 4 oz.

How is the balance point of Daemos with Aldebaran? You don't find it too tip heavy?
