Crow Horse Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Other than firearms, is anyone using Break Free CLP in their reels? I searched but no joy...... Quote
OnthePotomac Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 TSI 301 for guns and reel bearings. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 14, 2019 Super User Posted February 14, 2019 No. Degrease, then clean, dry, then lubricate, All in one products are not the best for reels. TSI 301 contains a solvent that may har reel internals. TSI 321 is more appropriate for lubing reel bearings. Acetone is what I found is the best for cleaning reel bearings. All other parts are scrubbed with Perfect Solution. Quote
Super User WRB Posted February 14, 2019 Super User Posted February 14, 2019 After cleaning my reels I use Break Free CLP inbetween servicing on the level wind worm gear and spool ends for over 30 now, works good. Tom 1 Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted February 14, 2019 Super User Posted February 14, 2019 If my reels get REALLY dirty while I'm away from home, I use it as a cleaner. Then I spray with contact cleaner, then re-lube. That's the only thing I use it for .... a cleaner. jj Quote
Super User JustJames Posted February 15, 2019 Super User Posted February 15, 2019 I use rem oil spray to clean worm gear when it get super dirty. Quote
Crow Horse Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Thanks. It excels when used in firearms but I thought its use in reels might be very limited or non existent..... Quote
