Good stuff but guys need to know it's pretty true to test. We get used to thinking braid breaks way over stated. I bought some 30 once for baitcasting and ended up using it for spinning because it was so thin. (And I'm the guy who always preaches to buy line by dia. rather than stated breaking strength). Go figure.

I have a couple spools of it and so far it has been great but I think still like Power Pro better. Smackdown does hold its color better.  I also have some the Kanzen.  It has also done well but it is a step below the Smackdown, not by much though.  I have a feeling it will start to fray faster than either Smackdown or the Power Pro.

I was thinking of buying some this spring, Roadwarrior wondering from your experience if you can address:

•The pound test experience Bassman has had?

•”Screech factor” lol... sounds weird I know but I have an aversion for loud braids.  I dunno but it makes me think it’s harder on my equipment over time.  Probably not with good guides, but I’m curious if you find that it screeches under load when reeling than other braids.

Thx

I fish #20 on spinning tackle and #40 on baitcasting gear, but you may prefer #30 and #50.

One of the many attributes of Smackdown is "uniformity".  Another is a VERY smooth finish.

I think you will find that the "screech factor" approaches zero.

I used to be a Power Pro guy, but I didn't like the stiffness.  I tried Kanzen first, then Smackdown.... My Power Pro went into the garbage!

Smackdown is unbelievable.  Fantastic braid. Honestly, I'd post a negative thing if I knew of one, but I haven't found one yet in over 3 years of fishing it.  Absolutely the best braid I've ever used.

Looking forward to using the new stealth gray this year!
