Went to academy today to replace a Berkeley lightning rod I broke this morning setting the hook on a decent sized bass. They’ve got the Lews IM8 combo that’s normally $139 on clearance for $79. Might wanna jump on it while you can gents.

That's a great combo, especially when you get it on sale. I paid $99 on mine and highly recommend it. The reel is basically a Lew's Tournament MB in all respects but color and it has a graphite frame instead of aluminum like the MB.

The reason these combos are on sale is Lew's has a new Mach 1 combo out for 2019. Looks like the reel has the "combat" paddles now and the rod has a Winn Grip instead of the old combos high density EVA foam.

But the rod is WHITE!  ☹️

Agree!  Lews commercials say their cute orange or white rods are made for today’s uninhibited fishermen.  Nope.

I have a new appreciation for the white, orange and neon green rods this year. They can be seen a mile away which is helpful when they are sitting in your kayak's rod holders.

Another reason was I was actually able to locate a rod that went overboard earlier this year because it was white.
