flywall99 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 I wanna get into using spinnerbaits and i have a few that were given to me by a friend but the hooks seem like they would be too thick for dinky pond bass. Anyone know of a brand that use thinner gauge hooks? Similar to the Dirty Jigs Finesse swim jigs? I tried looking online for finesse spinnerbaits but it seems like those options are small tiny spinnerbaits similar to booyah micro pond spinnerbaits. Any help would be great! Quote
Super User Munkin Posted November 16, 2018 Super User Posted November 16, 2018 Most factory baits use the same hooks which are thicker than you want. See if Seibert can make you some with 3/0 Daiichi hooks as they are the thinnest I know of. Allen Quote
Big Rick Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 The War Eagle Mike McClelland Finesse Spinnerbait is what you're looking for. It's about 2/3 of the normal spinnerbait size and has a smaller hook for finesse applications. I've caught a ton of bass on these. Awesome baits. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted November 16, 2018 Super User Posted November 16, 2018 The SK 3/16 spinnerbaits (they make several different ones) work well for "dinky pond bass" and are larger than the mini/micro finnesse ones, and the hook while not super thin, will work fine. I wrap some solder around the hook shaft on them when I want a compact look and more weight. I fish them on 12-15 lb mono, and have no problem with hook sets with a medium stick. 7 minutes ago, Big Rick said: The War Eagle Mike McClelland Finesse Spinnerbait is what you're looking for.
