I'm trying to determine the stock trebles on a Rapala Shadow Rap (pictured), they're bent out and need replaced.

I don't want to put just any hooks on them because I don't want to alter it's suspension in any way.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks guys, I'm looking at purchasing the original hooks now and I'm finding 25 pk VMC Round Bend Treble hooks (size 6) BUT there seems to be multiple options having different model #s. I have several of these shadow raps and I know a 25pk will come in handy.

There's a lot about treble hook characteristics that I don't understand yet but in the interim would anyone be able to confirm if I'm looking at the correct treble hooks here for this jerkbait?

Looks like those are it. But their really is no way for me to authenticate em I ordered a 25 pack of VMC wacky hooks a while ago in the pack. I personally would want them in the original packaging.

hook sizes listed on their site like stated above. I would switch out to gamakatsu finesse treble hooks

get some Gamakatsu round bends, they weigh the same and aren't made of al dente capellini like the VMCs. I seldom change hooks on most lures out of the package, as most suggest here, but these are absolute a$$, they bend or break with minimal force.

I have the same lure. Like all the users above have said, it's a size 6 vmc. I use VMC 9650 from janns netcraft. They're $5 for 25 (add shipping). I have used a size up but in a short shank (#4 VMC 9651), stick with the 6.

I believe Rapala is using the VMC 8540 or the 8650BN. The 8540 is what is used on Luck-E-Strike RC STX jerkbaits but it does seem a little lighter than the Rapala version so I'd try the 8650BN. You can contact Rapala through their site, they have always responded to my inquires in short time so you may want to do that. You can also call up Lure Parts Online, I believe they have both models and might know which one you need and if they don't they may be willing to send you a sample.
