I'm a huge Keitech Impact Fat fan, and like to fish them on swimbait jigheads.  Lately I've been trying my hand at drop shotting.

Anyone out there fishing the tiny 3 inch regular swing impacts on a dropshot or Ned rig?

I'll drop shot or mojo rig these babies and report back.

2.8 on an underspin is pretty much nonstop action in the lakes I fish. Ridiculously good.

Really cool I hadn't thought of that.

@NorcalBassin do you mean something like a small horsehead?  I haven't seen many underpins that small.

3" swing impact on a drop shot is money.  On a Keitech football jig head too.

3/16 most of the time but I've also done well with 3/8 when I want to get down a bit deeper. ?

2.8" fat impact on a 1/8oz midwest finesse head with a 1/0 head is a killer when they're eating small baitfish. I pour a 1/8oz herring head with a 1/0 hook for the same reason but it's a lot of extra work and I'm not sure it's any more effective.

Thanks a lot for the responses, guys.

I found about 10 minutes of fishing time today and rigged them up on a dropshot in a local pond.

Caught a bass on the second cast, hooked a second on the fourth cast (she outsmarted me).

What I used (basically what was in my bag at the time):

3 inch long Keitech swing impact in silver flash

VMC sureset drop shot hook : no. 2

Ecopro tungsten cylinder dropshot weight: 1/8 oz

Seaguar Red Label 8 lb test

About 8-10" long leader

Swam it quickly in front of weedline in about 2-3 ft of shallow water.  Stained water.

I will also try the other ways you guys have suggested.

Awesome, thanks.  I only had 1/4 oz VMC boxer heads handy, but thought of your post and threw them on the jigheads.

Fished in total darkness.  How the bass saw that tiny bait I have no idea.  But the facts speak for themselves: I got a limit in under 30 mins, and they often nailed the bait on the fall like a Ned Rig.   Couldn't get a single bite on topwaters.  Thanks for the advice.
