Cujo Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Hello all, I'm sure this has been asked before, I just could not find the right thread, so I apologize if I am being redundant. I was looking at a 1236 Lowe jon boat or equivalent for small ponds and rivers. Wanted to know if it is possible to put a front deck in this boat. I'm sure it will be a bit wobbly, but will it tend to tip over is the real question. I fished out of a 10' jon boat with a 31" bottom that was tippy and if not careful would flip over. Main concern is about the tipping over part not the wobbly part. Thanks for the expert advice! ;D ;D Quote

farmpond1 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 It's pretty short for a deck. How wide is it? Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 13, 2007 Super User Posted December 13, 2007 It'll be fine as long as you learn not to make any sudden moves, while the boat will actually be hard to flip over it will flip you out easily. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Normally those boat already have a small deck up front, it 's only matter of extending the deck with plywood or a reinforced aluminum sheet from the seat to the deck. Quote
mayassa Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I agree it should be OK, when your running around the lake you'll be in the back sitting lower anyways. Quote
