Glaucus Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I never fish for catfish, so my boss invited me to go fishing for catfish with him yesterday. It was a great time. But. And but... I saw a bunch of smallies smashing the top, and it grieved my soul. I felt like I was drinking Bud Light when I could have been drinking Bell's Two Hearted Ale. All fine and well, of course, but a man has preferences... Tis the season for us in the North! 4 1 Quote

Super User scaleface Posted April 14, 2018 Super User Posted April 14, 2018 Haha . A friend of mine had to take some guys from work crappie fishing . I got on the bass fast that day and had a limit of fifteen inchers in an hour . I knew where they were fishing , so pulled up and released the limit in front of them . I loved every second of it . 2 3 Quote
Glaucus Posted April 14, 2018 Author Posted April 14, 2018 Thing is, I almost brought some bass gear, but I didn't want to be rude, since he was the host and enjoys the cats. Would've been happy to just have had a Whopper Plopper with me, to take a few shots. 1 Quote

Super User Oregon Native Posted April 15, 2018 Super User Posted April 15, 2018 I dearly LOVE bass fishing...and I LOVE fishing for everything else to. I believe that time on the water fishing for other species helps me get a refocus on bass. Kind of like when I go golfing with the wife....I truely enjoy this experience and exercise...but when I get in the boat the next time it's a "phew"....gosh I love this boat and time on the water. Super User Darren. Posted April 15, 2018 Super User Posted April 15, 2018 Gosh, I feel sorry for ya, mate. That musta been nearly unbearable. And your analogy is good, though I've never had a Bell's. I'd probably opt for some Dragon's Milk or Yeti.... Although (ducks for cover) I actually enjoy Bud Light Platinum. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted April 15, 2018 Super User Posted April 15, 2018 This reminds me of folks who long for Baccardi, when there is only Capt Morgan, Don't try Pasador de Oro, or you'll never enjoy fresh water fishing, I mean drinking cheap rum, again... Quote
Smokinal Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I don't always fish for cats. But when I do, I'd rather be fishing for bass. 2 5 Quote
nascar2428 Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I'll take a smallie over a catfish, just like I'll take a Bell's over a dilly dilly anytime!! Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 ok so i drink Buds, never had a bells 2 hearted ale. Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted April 17, 2018 Super User Posted April 17, 2018 You could have told your boss you had a great catfish bait and thrown a Ned rig. I have caught Cats and Smallies on it, More Smallies though. To use your analogy, you would still be drinking Bud light but it would have had a shot of Jim Beam dropped into it. Quote
