Anyone know anything about scales?

Hello everyone! I was hoping someone knows of a scale that could weigh small jigs and weights. Under a ounce. I'm talking small. I know nothing about scales but have seen some smaller digital scales on line but thought I'd ask before purchasing one.

I'd think a name brand kitchen scale would work good.

Smaller digital scale is what I use. Lots of options available online that are affordable. I also have and use scientific spring scales, bit they're not quite as easy to use - but are more convenient since they're easily portable and don't require batteries.

Will those read small jigs and small lead/tungsten? If so could you recommend one ? Thank you very very much.

I did buy one from Walmart but it didn't read very well under an ounce.

We have a scale that measure to tenth of ounce and also grams - Pelouze Digital Postal scale. Works great.

I purchase my scales from Myweigh.com or oldwillknotscales.com (same options). The digital version I have weighs to 150 grams (just over 5 ounces) and is accurate at 0.1 g increments (1/300th of an ounce). Also supplied with antivibration pad and calibration weight to maintain accuracy. Lots of options makes it easy to pick whatever scale and accuracy level you might need.

Most are very accurate and less than 30.00

You could always check with your local meth dealer. He might have an extra one laying around. ?

You could buy a set of scales sold to folks who reload ammunition.  Most balance beam types weight up to 505 grains (there are 7000 grains in a pound/ 437.5 in an ounce).  Electronic versions are available but are $$$$.

For light stuff I use the AWS-100 digital scale that I bought from Amazon for $10. Weighs up to 100g (3.53oz) in 0.01 gram increments so really accurate.

I just borrow my pothead brother-in-law's scale.

I use a small food scale. If you or someone in your house has ever been on Weight Watchers, you have the scale you need.  It has the word PRECISION on the button. It seems to do the job pretty well. Beyond that, a scientific beam scale would really do the trick.

Agree, I use a Salter digital food scale, very accurate.

When weighing light weight items it's important to zero the scale, the weigh more then 1 each, if possible weigh 5 to 10 and divide by the number weighed.

I use my Salter digital kitchen scale.  Mine is old enough that I can't find anything that really looks like it any more.  The one that has won in testing twice over the last 3 years on America's Test Kitchen is the Oxo Good Grips food scale with pull out display (available on Amazon for $50).  Like my Salter, it can be set to weigh in 1 gram or 1/8 ounce increments, and has an 11 pound capacity.

1 ounce = 28.35 grams, any scale accurate within 1 gram is good enough for fishing stuff.
