Had a tough day on the lake today, a few small bass on a blade bait and an a-rig in 41 degree water. When I pulled in a big gizzard shad on my blade, I threw him in a bucket and gave myself a little extra time for a pit stop on the way home.......

Great looking fish.

I found a big gizzard shad (12-14") giving his last few kicks of life just before I left the lake Monday. I saved him just in case I get the urge to try for a big winter blue in one of the deeper holes of the little river.

That's a pond fish?  Must have some plenty to eat in that pond. Nice one!
