Super User FryDog62 Posted December 3, 2017 Super User Posted December 3, 2017 I have a credit at Bass Pro Shops and was considering buying a Carbonlite casting rod but they’re no longer for sale on the web site. Despite living in a state with 11,800 lakes - I live 500 miles away from the nearest BPS store! What other reputable rods do they sell (their brands or others)? I thought I remembered they sold Dobyns or Daiwa in the past, would be interested in either. Maybe more models avail in Feb/March? Quote
Super User Darren. Posted December 3, 2017 Super User Posted December 3, 2017 Lots of brands! St. Croix, Fenwick, Abu, just to name a few. http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/fishing-rods#facet:&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:& 1 Quote
OnthePotomac Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 I don't know what BPS is up to, but they drive me crazy trying to find some products on their site. Once you go into "fishing" then rods under the shopping category at the top of their web page there will be 11 pages of various manufacturers. You will find the Duckett Ghost for $99.99. I do not have one, but have handled them in Dicks and they are just like a Carbonlite, really, really light. I cannot comment on the rod, but you will probably find like many rods, some like them and some will find something wrong with them. In searching around I find far more like the Ghost then dislike it. In this regard, BPS had their Titanium baitcasters in MH, but they have disappeared for 6 months and customer service will say they are awaiting shipment. 1 Quote

Super User Darren. Posted December 3, 2017 Super User Posted December 3, 2017 Just now, FryDog62 said: Thank you, did I remember correctly that they did carry either Daiwa or Dobyns last year too? I believe so. In years past they did carry Daiwa, not sure Dobyns. But the site is a little frustrating, as @OnthePotomac said. Searching it sometimes yields no results tho the products are there. 1 Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted December 3, 2017 Author Super User Posted December 3, 2017 I see they also have Lews rods on their site at least for now.. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted December 3, 2017 Super User Posted December 3, 2017 I don't believe BPS ever sold Dobyns. Cabela's used to and then had a huge closeout on them years ago. They now sell them again (Cabelas). If you go to basspro's website and select fishing rods, all their brands are located on the left. 1 Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 The Carbonlite will be back. They had a good sale on them during Thanksgiving and sold out virtually everywhere. If you want a carbonlite just wait a little and it'll be back in stock. Quote

Something around 7’-2” or 7’-3” maybe MH or H? Quote

I don't have a clue. All I know is they had their Carbonlites on sale for 30% the weekend before Thanksgiving then their Black Friday sale had a rod and the PQ2 combo or $100. The CL flew off the shelves. Quote
