Lenny Kay Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I've just purchased two Bait Smith Magnums. I noticed that they sink pretty fast and they literally dredge the bottom. Is there a way of reducing some of the weight of these swimbaits? I've searched the web and found videos of people taking out the harnesses of the huddlestons but none of the Bait Smith Magnums. If there is anyone out there that can help me that would be much appreciated. Thank You!!! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 27, 2017 Super User Posted November 27, 2017 You're supposed to be dredging bottom with the bait. It's imitating a distracted, feeding trout. Why you'd want to alter that aspect of the bait is beyond me. If you want a bait to swim mid column, then get a slow sink hard bait. 2 Quote
Ktho Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I wouldn't mess with it, I'd sell it to me haha. They're meant to bump bottom in deeper water, I wouldn't mess with the internals especially since there's not really replacing anything you do. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 27, 2017 Super User Posted November 27, 2017 Nothing you can do except sell them. Huddleston 10" ROF 5* if you want a slower sinker 10" soft swimbait or Butch Brown Thumper 9" swimbait. Tom * Rate Of Fall, 5 = sinks 5' in 10 seconds. Quote
