Brett's_daddy Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Now this is my kind of kayak!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyjSfGXhT34 Quote
Tracker22 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 My JK big rig is WAY better. Foot controlled steering, digital speed control and so stable you don't need those pontoon thingys. And I would bet it's a lot cheaper and made in the USA. 1 Quote
YoTone Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 its nice until a 3 year old bass boat rolls up and you realize you paid more for yours. Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 I believe I saw the list price for this online at $2797.00. Quote
Tim Kelly Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Looks like the sort of thing designed by someone who's never been in a fishing kayak, but invents things to make it better. LOL Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 27, 2017 Super User Posted July 27, 2017 Looks like a Freedomhawk. Way too many moving parts. 1 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted July 27, 2017 Super User Posted July 27, 2017 Agree with @J Francho that it is similar to the Freedom Hawk with the pontoons. And it isn't my kind of fishing kayak, I want to be sitting high as possible! That said, I can see how it will appeal to a great many folks. And I love the long-pole-no-reel fishing he's doing. That's quite a bit of fun, especially when you hook a large fish. I've got rods like that from 10' to 20'. A blast. I need to break mine out and fish them soon. Too much fun to sit unused. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted April 11, 2018 Super User Posted April 11, 2018 I had a 14' and the 12' UL. Not bad, clever design, but they didn't hold up as well as they should have. Quote

I had an older model 14. Mine held up really good actually. I only fished it one season though. Got some heavy use. Survived everything the Shenandoah threw at it. My only dislike was the rod storage. I hate vertical rod holders on a yak. Most of the time just laid them at me feet. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 11, 2018 Super User Posted April 11, 2018 Mine were demo boats at a kayak shop that I used for fishing/kayaking classes and guided trips. Two seasons, and things started getting a little janky. The 14s held up. The 12s were the suspect boats. the 14 had planty of room for rods, but the 12 was a pain to bring more than three. At this point, I really like mu Commander 140. No need for retractable pontoons to stand up. Quote

I even thought about getting pontoons on my pursuit for the initial stability. I was 100% confident in the freedom hawk. Quote
