CybrSlydr Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 I'm wanting to head back to Tycoon Lake this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. Here's the weather on Friday: Thunderstorms Early --65° 50% NW 5 mph 96% UV INDEX SUNRISE SUNSET MOONRISE MOONSET 0 of 10 6:15 am 8:54 pm -- 11:31 am Scattered thunderstorms during the evening, then partly cloudy overnight. Low near 65F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%. Here's Saturday's: Partly Cloudy 84°62° 20% NNW 5 mph 70% UV INDEX SUNRISE SUNSET MOONRISE MOONSET 8 of 10 6:16 am 8:53 pm 12:17 am 12:34 pm Intervals of clouds and sunshine in the morning with more clouds for later in the day. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 84F. Winds light and variable. Here's Sunday's: Sunny 86°64° 10% NNW 4 mph 63% UV INDEX SUNRISE SUNSET MOONRISE MOONSET 10 of 10 6:17 am 8:53 pm 12:50 am 1:39 pm Sunny. High 86F. Winds light and variable. Between Saturday and Sunday, which looks like the better day to go and fish? I'm thinking Saturday since the storm the previous day will have stirred up stuff, so hopefully fish will be feeding and it's got some cloud cover (I believe I've read bass move around more when there's cloud cover than not?) so they'll be more active. Is my reasoning tracking straight? Appreciate the help folks. Quote
Bassun Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 I'm with you weather wise, I'd choose Saturday. But, I don't really like crowds. If there is a tourney going Saturday - I may would go Sunday anyway lol. I love midweek fishing, too bad I have to work in order to be able to afford fishing, lol. 1 Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted July 11, 2017 Super User Posted July 11, 2017 I'd go Saturday too. If I have the choice of two days and one is worse (but safe and tolerable) weather I usually pick that day. It doesn't always turn out great and I've had amazing days during bluebird skies but it generally seems to work. 2 Quote

Super User Oregon Native Posted July 12, 2017 Super User Posted July 12, 2017 I would go any or all the days I could....(like being out there!!) 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted July 14, 2017 Super User Posted July 14, 2017 How bad are those thunderstorms going to be Friday? I hate getting out to a spot and then having to go back to the ramp because of lightning. 1 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted July 14, 2017 Super User Posted July 14, 2017 Saturday seems the obvious choice and not a mistake, But I have caught my biggest fish in the rain. Early Friday and possibly all day. Thunder stores are quick moving and in the event of a storm, any available dock is a safe zone. You don't need to head back to the ramp, I have spent many storms sitting on a strangers dock 1 Quote

As for the dock bit, I'm on the bank as well, so I won't be on the water. Quote
