Hello,

I have been lurking here for the last week or so trying to get some reviews on different gear and I finally decided to join up. I currently live in Georgia with my wife and 2 children and am looking to get back into fishing. I grew up in Tennessee and my grandfather had a camp on the Tennessee river so I spent a lot of time there with him fishing from an early age. I quit fishing for quite some time after he died, not for any particular reason other than I did not really have anyone to go with on a regular basis. I moved here in 2000 and my aunt and uncle live on a lake so I would go there on occasion but never really got back into it. My daughter is 6 now and I got her a pole a few years ago and she has enjoyed the trips we have taken so far. My son is 2 and I just got him a little pole and he has taken to it pretty well so far, he likes to press the button and reel it in and I am sure casting will come in time. My grandfather never fished for bass so neither did I so I am trying to learn as much as I can and dive right in so to speak. A friend of mine and I are taking a trip down the Flint river next week and I plan to try my hand at catching some shoal bass, hopefully we will have some luck. I just wanted to say hello and I am including a picture of my daughters first fish, her first words were "Can we eat it?"

Welcome! That's great that you're getting your kids involved. My oldest is 3.5 and he loves going fishing whenever we get the chance.

Hello and welcome aboard! Great pic of your daughter's first fish. Wish I could talk my son into going fishing with me. He's 18 now so you know how that can be nowadays...lol.
