Attila Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Hi everyone, I've recently taken to swapping out stock trebles from the crankbaits that I buy. Wondering what you do with all the trebles you swap out? Attila Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 27, 2017 Global Moderator Posted June 27, 2017 I save mine and put them on the baits that I find. You can sell them when you get a bunch since they are brand new hooks and decent quality. 1 Quote
Megastink Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I sell mine. I have about 200 of them in a box. I'll probably get $40 or so and sell to someone with a trot line or a catfishermen. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 27, 2017 Super User Posted June 27, 2017 I'd rather buy baits that came with quality hooks, but there are a few must haves that need better hooks. Jitterbugs and Spooks come to mind. Rebel Crawfish is another. 1 Quote
Attila Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 @J Francho Much as I'd like to, I throw a lot of jerkbaits, crankbaits, and squarebills and they tangle with plenty of musky over the course of the season which do a number on regular stock trebles. That's why I swap them out for something with better quality that can hold up to some of the fish I run into.... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 27, 2017 Super User Posted June 27, 2017 Just be careful with added weight on some of them. It can really throw off some of the more subtle baits. Flashminnow is one that comes to mind. 1 Quote
Attila Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 Understood @J Francho, I appreciate the feedback as always. 1 Quote
