Hi everyone,

I've recently taken to swapping out stock trebles from the crankbaits that I buy.

Wondering what you do with all the trebles you swap out?

I save mine and put them on the baits that I find. You can sell them when you get a bunch since they are brand new hooks and decent quality.

I sell mine. I have about 200 of them in a box. I'll probably get $40 or so and sell to someone with a trot line or a catfishermen.

I'd rather buy baits that came with quality hooks, but there are a few must haves that need better hooks.  Jitterbugs and Spooks come to mind.  Rebel Crawfish is another.

@J Francho  Much as I'd like to, I throw a lot of jerkbaits, crankbaits, and squarebills and they tangle with plenty of musky over the course of the season which do a number on regular stock trebles.  That's why I swap them out for something with better quality that can hold up to some of the fish I run into....

Just be careful with added weight on some of them.  It can really throw off some of the more subtle baits.  Flashminnow is one that comes to mind.
