JayNick Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I hooked a large Grass Carp yesterday in my pond. Wasn't trying! As I got it to the bank, the line snapped. It swam away with a small crank bait in its lip. I searched all the topics related to this situation. No help. Today I went to the pond with a large amount of floating catfish food hoping the carp would show. It did! No lure in its mouth. I know its the same one because it has a large white spot on the left side of the dorsal fin. I think the key to this mystery is that I shaved the barb before fishing. In less than 24 hours, the carp got rid of the lure. Happy Landings!! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 Welcome aboard! Quite likely the barbless hook did the trick. Quote
