Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 26, 2017 Global Moderator Posted May 26, 2017 I really like the Booyah Popping Pad Crashers, but I'm really excited to try the new popping Savage Gear frogs more. I caught a bunch on one last week at my practice lake. Hopefully get to try them for real soon Quote
Basseditor Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Paycheck Baits Transporter. (No longer made, unfortunately) when they discontinued them, I bought everyone I could find. No matter the frog, we make unique modificationsno one else does that I know of. with our modification, you can make a mediocre frog a good or great frog. We did a video of it. 2 Quote

The angle of the hooks differs a bit from other frogs and I'm curious if this adversely affects the hookset. I have not used it a ton yet but I think if the fish doesn't miss it you will hook them. If anything it might not be as weedless as you want but I'd rather lean that way. 1 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 26, 2017 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 26, 2017 I like Booyah Pad Crasher and Poppin Pad Crasher. Casts easy, plus it's simple to add weight (BB's) to them for heavy slop fishing. I haven't had the chance yet to fish the new popping Savage Gear frogs, but I'm looking forward to using them this summer! Quote

I've got some of the popping versions to try this summer, when the slop comes in. You miss 3/4's of the best frog bite of the year if you wait to use them in slop 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 26, 2017 Super User Posted May 26, 2017 Booyah and Spro. I don't think I have ever used anything else. Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 27, 2017 Super User Posted May 27, 2017 I've yet to find anything that works better than Academy's H2O frog! Quote
MDbassin Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I like booyah pad crasher and the River2sea spittin wa. I have a several Spro frogs but every single one takes on water like a block of Swiss cheese. I can't even get through one retrieve before the frog starts not being able to work right cause it has so much water in the body bass in pic was with pad crasher 2 Quote
PaFrogThrower9 Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I have a ton of them. Booyah, River2Sea, Strike King, and Spro. Hands down Spro is my favorite and I always have one tied on. Second would prob be the Booyah. Quote
d-camarena Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Ive tried every brand, my favorite is the boyaah. I also like manns but boyaah is best bang for buck 1 Quote

Super User the reel ess Posted May 29, 2017 Super User Posted May 29, 2017 Booyah, baby! I caught two this morning on the Booyah Poppin' Frog. The popping model walks more easily too. There's the possibility of two actions. Quote

I've caught hundreds of fish on poppers of all makes, styles and colors. But not on a popping frog for some crazy reason. If I don't walk it or use a steady retrieve I get nothing. Darnest thing Mike Quote

Darnest thing Mike I hadn't caught one on this popping frog yet. I usually use the standard Pad Crasher. But I was fishing a little more open water with a few laydowns here and there. So I tied on the popper with little expectation of getting bites on it. I picked up the frog rod at every laydown and lily pad patch and was rewarded with a couple, including the big fish of the day-only a couple pounds. I was with my buddy and his nephews. 1 Quote

I still throw the Transporter Frog, but since they're no longer made, I no longer bother to mention them. Roger Quote
mooneyes Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 With advice from some of the local fisherman I have been using the Jackal Iobee frog. I was told that I did not need to do anything to the bait to make it fish well, but trimmed the legs anyway, they were longer than I cared for. The hooks are sharp and are opened up well, and the frog walks better than most any I have used. It has become my goto for frogs when a walking presentation is what they prefer. The SPRO is a good all round frog as mentioned by numerous others. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted June 1, 2017 Super User Posted June 1, 2017 So, here recently I've had the opportunity to fish the Terminator frog. I like it a lot. Not too expensive and it walks better than any I've tried. Good hook sets, body collapses easily, and doesn't draw a ton of water like spro or koppers will. Two thumbs up from me. And I hate fishing frogs. Quote
