Could I get away with throwing a 10XD with a BB1 in 5.1? I'm looking for a reel specifically from Lews that'll be a good fit for tossing 10XD's. I know they have the Super Duty in 6.4, but I'm really wanting something in the 5 range and I reel Lefty.

They had a lefty BB1 5.1:1 in the beginning but i think it´s discontinued. I have one and yes, it can handle a 10XD just fine so if you manage to find one it´s a good option. I also have the Super Duty in 6.4:1 and it can handle that type of baits to but i do prefer the BB1. If i´m not mistaken lews also haves a 5 gear ratio lefty tournament MB but dont quote me on this one...

Call Lews direct and ask them to query dealers for anyone that still has the (no longer in production) the 5.1 in left hand.  They made it for a time.  If you can't find one, a 6.4 will work but it will take more effort in the retrieve. The 5.6 MB is on the LFS frame and I would shy away from that size reel for a 10XD.

Either go with the BB1 5:1 in LH or the Super Duty 6:1 in LH. I've got the BB1 and it works fine with 10XDs, going on year 2 or 3 with no issues. Lew's does have the multi-stop in 5:1 in LH.

If you can wait until Sept, they are going to release a new edition of the BB1 Pro, if they release a LH 5:1 version, I'd check it out. If you are interested in a SuperDuty wide spool, send me a PM.
