TxHawgs Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Like many of us we have so many baits and only so much time. So many don't get used or only used a certain way. The Rage Bug, I have only used it and seen it used as a pitching/flipping bait. Is anyone just fishing it as a T-rig? And how about as a Mojo/Finesse C-rig? And while your hear what are your Top 2 creature baits for T-rigs? As always, thanks guys! Quote
Super User NHBull Posted April 26, 2017 Super User Posted April 26, 2017 I am trying to streamline things i usually go through a lot of Rage Tails Rage swimmer fat ika hula grub fat keitecks 3 Quote
RichF Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I use the rage bug on a T-rig, as a jig trailer, and on a swing head. Great little bait. 2 Quote
jr231 Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It is definitely awesome for punching. There's a huge pond I fish that has the thick slop around the whole edge about 10 to 15 feet out. And the bass just hangout under this stuff. This is my favorite application for the rage bug. I also like to use it on the "jika" rig .. actually... It's my favorite bait on this rig so far . 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 27, 2017 Super User Posted April 27, 2017 Try taking a Rage Bug for a ride on a Greenfish Tackle Creeper Head ~ Seems to rather popular with the local Smallmouth population. A-Jay Quote
Big Swimbait Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Rage Bug in Blue Craw & the D-Bomb in El Diablo. T-rig pegged or on a swing head. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 While on vacation at Kentucky Lake the past 2 years our most productive bait for ledge fishing has been a Rage Bug on a swing head. 2 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted April 27, 2017 Super User Posted April 27, 2017 I run it on a Rage rig and keep moving along the bottom. Quote
Robert Riley Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It's my go to bait for swingheads and flipping. I've started using it as an alternative to lizards on my c-rigs, and I've got one tied up t-rigged for this weekend. I also like the space monkey too. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted April 28, 2017 Super User Posted April 28, 2017 Buy the Rage bug in all sizes and colors. 4 Quote

Megastink Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I fish it Texas style and on a swing head. Zona just had his live show with KVD and he was tossing it on a jighead. It's a good jig trailer too. Quote
ErikmonBillsfon Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Only craw type bait that I've caught fish on in CT. Granted I've only started craw fishing last year. I love it in Alabama craw or blackblue with a simple Texas rig. Throw it into trees and structure. It's not durable but I don't care if I catch em. Got some magnum size and can't wait to try them this year. Quote
TxHawgs Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 So I see quite a few of u T-rig it, but r u fishing it like a traditional T-rigged worm or just pitching it into cover and pulling it out? I fished it Thursday like a T-rigged worm, hopping it back to the boat and not a nibble. Yet the old baby brush hog was killin it as usual. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 30, 2017 Global Moderator Posted April 30, 2017 Swinging football head is my best rig for it. They make a great jig trailer too. 2 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted April 30, 2017 Super User Posted April 30, 2017 Try a 4/0 light belly weighted EWG hook. When the bass are feeding on bluegill this bait with a gliding fall is special. Quote

I like it on the "jika" rig with the same retrieve he does on his swinging football head. Also pitching and punching. Awesome bait and durable too. I've had 7+ fish on one bait. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted May 1, 2017 Super User Posted May 1, 2017 I like it a lot trigged, jika and swing-head rigged. But, like @Columbia Craw , a weighted EWG is my preferred method .....maybe 90% of the time. Quote

Probably my favorite soft plastic to T-rig. I fish it in cover as well as just cast and hop it back. I get bit doing both. I also fish it on a c-rig and swinging football head as others have mentioned. Awesome soft plastic. Quote
