I find myself becoming less impressed with this line over time.  It doesn't last long and quickly loses it's casting advantages. Just wondering if other guys have recent observations.

I put it on a few reels last year and it's off now. Can't really put a finger on why. I think I'm just a mono guy. Heck..most of my fish this year have came swimming grubs with Original Stren. Going old school...lol

One thing that bugs me about it is that if you have any roughness to your fingers (like from lipping bass) it causes the line to fuzz and separate. Two selling points, though.  It's silent and casts a mile as long as you keep it new.

I still really like it. I use it until it starts to puff out, then I flip it on the spool so it's basically like a new spool of line. Once that end puffs out I'll just start trimming a few feet to get to fresh line until the spool gets low. I fish it a lot and have only put one new spool of line on.

I really like it also. I use it only for spinning setups

Same for me. I don't think it has near the benefits on casting gear.

Tried it. Tossed it.

Gliss is significantly better than Nanofil, but they're both way too fragile.

If you're not pleased with these types of lines, I'd recommend trying a high-end braid in 10lb test. The casts will be 90% as long as with Gliss/Nanofil and the abrasion resistance will be far better.

This year I have replaced Gliss on most of my spinning setups with YGK upgrade X8. So far I am really liking the X8, but we will see how it hold up over an entire season.

I tried a spool of the 24 lb. on a spinning rod last season...I didn't hate it...but it frays easily and makes me nervous about it breaking.

I just peeled it off this evening and replaced it with the 40# to see if it is any better.  If it's not, I'm going back to Sufix 832.

I wanted to try the X8 but for some dumb reason bought the 14lb, which is so thin I could sometimes close my eyes and not be able to tell if I had a strand of it between my fingers.  It did cast a mile but I couldn't knot it in any sort of wind and my leader knots tended to break often enough that I scrapped it.  I do still wanna give it a real go, what thickness did you go for?

Gliss may be the single worst line I've ever tried. Bought so called 40#, was easily able to break it with my hands. I was also able to make it fray and break rubbing it on the corner of a desk, even though the desk was smooth it chewed right through it.

Usually if I buy a product I don't like I just write it off as a loss. This stuff was so bad I couldn't let them get away with stealing my money. I went back and returned it before I ever even put it on a reel.

I'd cut myself to the bone if I tried to break fresh Gliss by hand.

It's a great line for finesse, open water presentations, but it's far from weak. I landed a 21 1/2 pound flathead with 24lb Gliss in less than 5 minutes fishing a Ned rig, one of my main baits I fish with Gliss. I use the 40lb on the rod I fish Storm swimbaits for wipers on during the winter and I've had fish rub back and forth across a braided metal cable and landed the fish. It's not real abrasion resistant no, but it's not sewing thread either.

I bought the 22lb. I had trouble with the leaders too. They weren't breaking but just sliding off on hooksets. I decided to go sans leader, and then I had some trouble with knots holding when tied direct. I started using a double palomar knot and have not had one break since. I even hauled in a 6.4 lb'er through the slop last week on it and the double palomar held up fine.

So far the knot issues have been the only negatives I've seen in the line. Now that I seem to have that sorted out, I am really liking it.

Ah, got you.  Thanks for the info, I can't stand the palomar, so I will skip getting a second spool.
