I have a business trip to Vegas Feb 22-25. I will have a free day Fri 24th and was wondering how to put a day trip together. Anyone know any guides in that area? I saw the other post a little ways down the page and have heard of Havasu; is that the best option in the area?

Thanks for any tips/leads!

If you're looking for a guide for Havusa check out Shaun Bailey's Guide Service.

Lake Mead would be your best option.  It's about 30 mins outside of Vegas.  Havasu is about 2 1/2 hrs away.

The north end of Havasu is where I-40 crosses the Colorado River near Needles. The next lake south of Mead is Lake Mojave, the north end is close to Las Vegas at Seach Light-Willow Beach. I believe Bailey operates out of Henderson Nevada just south of Vegas and guides all 3 lakes. Havasu offers the best Smallmouth fishing, but as Glenn noted it's a long drive to get there.

Mead and Mohave are your best bets, should be coming at about the height of the pre spawn.
