Do I get a free hat or something for probably being the thousandth person to ask this?

In the market for a second tube stick in addition to the 6'8" M XF SC3 mojo I already own. Felt the 7'1" M F SC3 Mojo side by side and it's whippier than I'd like, looking for something that loads up on a slaunch at the end of a long cast with ease! Also plan on fishing heavier heads with this one, likely 1/4-3/8oz.

Any of you KC melvern/wolf boys see this, speak up! hah

was going to recommend the nrx 852 or 872 but im not sure how they would handle the 3/8oz + tube. They are not as powerful as the 68mxf LE or Avid and I assume the mojo is similar. many people in the great lakes area fish tubes with the 872.

I have 2 nrx 872's and I fish St Clair. That is a fantastic rod. I'm not sure if I have gone much heavier than a 1/4 Oz weight though.

I fish tubes typically on two different rods.

6'9 M Fast Rage Casting

7' M Fast Premier spinning

I would replace the Premier with a similar Avid X for tubes, though, I do still really like it a lot for other things.

I have the NRX 872.  In the summer, I use 3/8 oz heads 90% of the time, and the rod handles the weight really well.  When I go heavier than 3/8 oz, which is rare, I use a baitcaster.

I have the 68 MXF spinning and got the 610MLXF to go with it.  I also have a casting 71MF with a Shimano Metanium MGL that is smooth as silk for plastics.

That question has been asked a thousand times.

No free hat!

I may ask Raymond if he'll knock a good amount off in exchange for this guy. Hate to part ways with it but that stick is exactly what I'm looking for.IMG_3811.JPG

I use a Fenwick 7'6" Med Light XF for tubes 3/8 and under. If I'm going heavier I'll use a baitcaster, Dobyns 734.

I really like the ML for tubes and smallies. The length will give you plenty of leverage, braid and a leader will give you a solid hookset (I use a Zona tube hookset), the ML will give you plenty of give when the smallies go airborne. For me, it's the perfect tube jig setup.
