riverbasser Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 So I decided to do a deep cleaning on my baitcasters for the first time. I started with a BPS pro qualifier. Everything went pretty smoothly and got the reel back together. It is functional and cast better than new, but I can feel some resistance while reeling in. Any ideas on what might be wrong? I know a lot of reels are different but any common things I could check? Thanks Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 First thing I'd check is yo pull the spool, loosen the cast control cap and reinstall the spool. If that doesn't do it contact me offline and I'll troubleshoot with you. Mike 4 Quote

I feel like one of my customers who brings a truck into the shop and I show them its something stupid simple. Thanks mike Mind explaining a little about what was happening? Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 If the cap is too tight the spool shaft hits it keeping the spool itself from seating properly. Glad I could help. Merry Christmas. 2 Quote
