Over the 6 weeks since my last post I haven't had any good days lure hunting, but yesterday I laid the little guys out together and they've been accumulating.

It depends on the content of your channel, you can post your videos, but not if there's anything promotional on your channel, or if it's deemed to be promotional in any way, or links to anything promotional, etc. I'd advise you to read the whole thing though, because if you get it wrong, you may be gone.

I had a good lure hunting day yesterday.  Fall lure season has begun!

I've never spent time searching through lily pad thickets before, but wow, half the lures in the rh column were attached to lily pad stems.

I like this good old lure a lot, but I haven't had a chance to look up information on it yet.  Anyone want to make a guess?

I found the cut and polished geode about 3 feet from shore.  I'm hoping it wasn't thrown in the lake in memory of someone.

The brown crank bait is Deep Wee R Rebel. I can't help you with the swim bait.

I finally found the video, and it was fun.  One thing though, don't be harsh on people who lose lures, they are one of the best parts of lure hunting!

They just took a big chance casting into a tricky area to find the big one, and they didn't get it quite right.  This world needs more fishermen like them!  lol

Yeah you’re right, I was actually thinking of leaving a thank you note for all the freebies. Most of it came from a bunch 10-12 year olds who likely borrowed from their fathers’ tackle boxes.

I’ve watched them throw into the tree and make no attempt at retrieval.. they cut their line right at the reel leaving a lot more than they need to. They litter and murder fish, and they stabbed the hell out of the aluminum sheathing around the pipe in the video with a steak knife. I know I should support young anglers but this specific group is trouble.

I’ve been giving a lot of the trouble group’s lures away to young anglers I come across that don’t irritate me and trash the place.

Thank you. I just started throwing deep cranks, is it any good?

The Wee R Rebels used to be one of the best crankbaits you could get. I haven't used mine in quite a while. I have some in the color pattern you found but the only thing I could ever catch on that particular color was Catfish.

Went out for a few hours of fishing and lure hunting Saturday morning. Not as productive in either aspect as I'd hoped, but not terrible either. I didn't do a nice picture because I was in a hurry. I did take a video of most of the fishing and lure collecting, instead of just the fishing.

I still love searching through your pictures of piles of lures!

You got a Karl's lure just like Bazoo was talking about above.

Think this is called something like Baby Bull Shad? Mike Bucca the Maker of Bull Shads went in with another company to make it. I have a couple of them that I cannot find right now.

Yesterday I returned to a lake I had "discovered" last spring.  I found quite a few lures, and among them was a Fred Arbogast Hawaiian Wiggler in pretty good shape.

I'll lightly clean it up and add it my shadow box display of classic Heddon and Arbogast lures I've found.

It's a Shannon Twin Spin, perhaps 1940's/50's.  I was just reading through an old thread on bassresource from 2020, and @WRB mentioned the name, so I looked it up.  Thanks Tom!

I'm trying to imagine how that would swim. It seems like it would be very erratic. What a crazy design. How in the world did somebody come up with that thing?

Was this the same lake where you found the Twin Spin? It's a shame somebody is throwing away these classic lures. Probably some kid with his grandfather's tackle box.

My guess is the wiggler would go somewhat like a johnson's silver minnow.  It's a flattened lead head on a single hook so it would go on its back, and it has the skirt and spinner to slow it down.  The one I found is a model 1-1/2.  Here's an article that describes the Hawaiian Wiggler models https://bass-archives.com/wigglers-and-dancers-fred-arbogast/

Different lake and different watershed from the twin spin.  I've found 7 classics this year, and they've come from 6 different lakes (curiously, all called Menderchuk by the locals lol).  I'm always hoping to find a hot spot for classics because I especially like them, but the only possible link I've seen so far in my 4 years in Michigan are that the twin spin came from the same lake as the Creek Chub Plunker I found in 2021 (wood with glass eyes, so the two lures are likely from the same era).

I think it's kind of nice to see that people are trying the old ones, probably from their grandfather's tackle boxes, or great-grandfather's tackle box.  I hope they are catching fish with them and not losing them right away.

I got into my dad's tackle box at way too early of an age. I know I couldn't have appreciated the lures as much as I would now. I still have the actual steel tackle box, but the contents are all long gone ☹️

Most of what I find is rusted out junk (I still keep it). Finally snagged something still in decent condition, Bomber long A that looked like it was lost that day.

A couple of baits from this past weekend's trip.  Arbogast Buzz Plug and an old Daiwa crankbait.

I pulled 2 Berkley Choppos (90 and 130 size, both white), a baby bass colored 1/4oz rattle trap, a cheap white and blue popper, and a KO Megabass jerkbait all out of the same tree Saturday. Forgot to take a picture of them and gave them all to my buddy though since we were in his boat. Thought it was weird to find all that in one tree and then nothing else.

It seems to go that way sometimes. I find a couple within a few feet of each other which puts me on alert and then I can't stop looking around for more. Most times I don't find more.

I found a Berkley Spin Rocket today hanging in a tree right next to a big long stick. I had it down in less than a minute. Some people give up so easy, I don't understand it.
