Strike King Rodent

I use the Yamamoto Flappin Hogs, SK Rage Bug (or Rage Craw) primarily, for my T-Rig & flipping and pitching to moderate cover.  I know they are simply SK version of the sweet beaver.  Anyone have both that they can post a picture of next to each other?  How thick is the Rodent?  Looking to add a another creature bait into the mix and the sweet beavers aren't as soft as I would like - durability isn't an issue as I use the crap out of the Flapping Hogs - but they are now $1.45ea.  I read the Rodents are a softer plastic do you find this to be true?

The Rodents are extremely soft. I usually get a fish per bait out of them. They're a little thicker than a sweet beaver and they have bulbous knobs on the ends of the flappers. Something about them, they catch more and bigger bass in our lakes than other beavers for some reason. I could get a picture next to the Rage bug and sweet beaver, I don't own any flappin hogs.

Exactly this right here. That being said the SK rodent is my go to pitching bait. The deck of the boat is littered with 4 inch rodents in Big Tex. Only downside is the durability of the bait. The trokar big nasty flippin hooks really tear the crap out of them. I've started putting O-rings on the tail end before I rig them on my flipping hook to get maybe one or two more fish out of each bait. If they are biting these you better be sure to have plenty of them with you or you will run out pretty quick.

I recently saw a vid on youtube where a guys demonstrates an o-ring on the head of creature baits rigged on flippin hooks. Hard to describe in in words, but you put an o-ring 2-3 notches down the head, and pass the hook point through the o-ring, and setting the barbs at the eye of the hooks under the o-ring. Supposedly it works just like o-rings on senkos. I haven't tried this yet, but I plan on it this week. I use SK structure bugs, and usually only get one fish per bait. It has gotten to be rather expensive lately.

One of my favorite beaver style baits. I will second the softness and lack of great durability. I get a few fish per bait but they tend to work well and the built in scent is an added plus.
