Mwvbass Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I'm heading up to Lake Umbagog, staying at the NH state park campground (southern end of the lake) in a couple weeks and have never fished this lake before. I'll be fishing from a kayak and was hoping to get some tips on good spots to hit for smallies, as well as some info on what lures seems to work best there this time of year. Thanks! Quote
MikeOGNR Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 If you go straight across from the main boat launch you'll see an island to your right hand side fish all the way from there about 20 yards out from the shoreline there's a good weed line and rocks there if you make your way more down towards the right from there you'll see a little cut through that has 2 islands on both your right and left hand sides fish in there. If you can and paddle for a far ride all the way at the back end of the lake where the off sure campgrounds are I've seen guys go out there and pull in 30-40 smallie days around the islands out there and the deep ledges. Here's some of the smallie I caught there they are all general this size but at the LL Cote.... "Highly recommend stopping there" there is a picture of someone who caught a 7lb largemouth out of the lake. Here are the photos best of luck Quote
Mwvbass Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Thanks for the tips! I do plan on stopping in at L. L. Cote. I figured they could also give me some pointers. Nice fish! Quote
