I have a 1994 skeeter zx175 with a   Yamaha pro v 175. Boat fires right up and when I put it in to gear to go it has no holeshot it will just bog down.sometimes t won't big out and It will take out of the hole but not hardly at all. Does anything know about my problem? Any help appreciated much, thanks.

If your RPMS are increasing out of the hole but your speed is not picking up, you may have a spun hub. Pretty easy to tell. It will feel like you're in neutral while hammering down. Easiest way to find out is put a mark on the inner race of the prop and then on the hub itself. Take off and check the marks. If they are way off, you have a spin hub. If they are a hair off, it's fine and no the hub.

If by bogging down you mean you give it gas and the RPMS aren't increasing past the 2-2.5k ish range and you're boat wants to die, you may have a duel restriction or a number of other things.

Make sure the issue isn't the prop before you start on the motor.

I had a problem almost identical to this once.  Boat idled fine, revved fine etc.  But, when I throttled out of the no wake cove where I launch -- major power loss at full throttle.  Long story short, the engine was just getting hot because of a bad impeller.  (and one later from a clogged water line that I didn't notice at the dock.)  I thought it was fine the first time after I piddled around on it and it ran fine on a short distance.  Really it had just cooled down, and once hot, it thermaled and limited power again.  Glad the engine was smarter than I was!
