FirstnameLastname Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 What do you all think is the overall most effective lure for any species any conditions. Wether it be bass, trout, cats, panfish, pike etc Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted May 28, 2016 Super User Posted May 28, 2016 bass trout panfish pike have all hit an in-line spinner such as mepps never caught a cat with one. Ice out to mid summer to ice on 3 Quote
flyingmonkie Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 x2 for In-line spinner. Rooster Tail is my favorite. And I have caught several catfish on them. 1 Quote
Tracker22 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 X3 Roostertail (white is my favorite). I've caught a 6lb bass and a 12lb cat on them. I don't know anything that won't bite a Roostertail. Sometimes I'll throw one just to see if the fish are biting. If they don't bite it's not worth fishing. 1 Quote
Turkey sandwich Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Curl tail grub, jig, and woolly bugger, sized appropriately, will catch almost anything. 1 Quote
tstraub Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 My go to just want to get bit lure is an arkie sexee tail shad (Tennessee shad color). Species I have caught or seen caught include bluegill, black and white crappie, red ear bluegill, perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, carp, and catfish. I like to their then on a 1/32 oz jig head so ultra light gear is required to get any casting distance. 1 Quote
Todd2 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I immediately thought Roostertail. My second pick would be a Beetle Spin. Quote
Fish the Mitt Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 x100 for In-line Spinners. I prefer Mepps and BlueFox 1 Quote
Smokinal Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Ya know, my first thought was a spinner as well. But then I think back to the last 2 years of discovering the Ned; and I know some are sick of hearing about it but I've caught bass, crappie, pickerel, brookies, browns, yellow perch, white perch, bluegill...basically everything that swims in my waters on them pretty consistently. 2 Quote
bradco Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Ned rig. Not uncommon to catch many species on same bait in the same day here in the Midwest. Have caught LM, SM, Spots, Crappie, Walleye, Wipers/Whites, Catfish, Drum, Trout. I'm not sure there is a species that won't bite it! 3 Quote
ETX92 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 My top 3 would be these I've caught bout everything on them. Other than that I've caught a lot of stuff on the little rebel crawfish and grasshoppers and curly tail grubs and beetle spins also. 1 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted May 28, 2016 Super User Posted May 28, 2016 A 1/16 roadrunner has caught me about everything. 2 Quote
Fishinthefish Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Rooster tail, caught cats, carp, pan fish, pike, sm, lm, stripers, walleye. 1 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted May 28, 2016 Super User Posted May 28, 2016 Inline spinner, Beetle Spin, plain ol grub, small tube jig (crappie size), live minnow. I've caught some crappie at the local reservoir on the Rat L Trap. I've caught bluegill, redbreast, stripers and bass on the Rebel Wee Craw. 2 hours ago, ETX92 said: My top 3 would be these I've caught bout everything on them. Super User scaleface Posted May 28, 2016 Super User Posted May 28, 2016 I'm going with the Mister Twister Sassy Shad or curl tail grub on a jig head . Quote
edfitzvb Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Again, In-line spinner. I spent many hours throwing a Mepps in brass finish. I caught pretty much whatever was swimming with it. If I only had one lure, I would trust an inline spinner to feed me. Quote
crypt Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Rapala floating minnow,3f or 5f,small but effective.or a roadrunner. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 28, 2016 Global Moderator Posted May 28, 2016 Fished a Ned yesterday, caught largemouth, smallmouth, whites, warmouth, bluegill, walleye, catfish, and drum. It catches every fish that swims around here. 2 Quote
