I splurged and bought Tatsu last year. It has almost no memory and is pretty strong. However it seems not to be very abrasion resistant along jagged rip rap, so I use fluoro leader material on the end.

Anyone here use Gamma? Is it as castable as Tatsu? How is the abrasion resistance?

I haven't used tatsu, but did do gamma on a few reels a while back when it first came out.  Gamma is a nice line...very manageable.  However, it's thick...cxx thick, and I think it's overpriced when compared to other lines that have come out since.  A lot of guys were shelling out for gamma because back in like '06 or 7 when it came out, the fluoro market was small and most lines weren't very manageable.  That said, it can still hang, just check your diameters before choosing your test.

So you have the reel spooled with Tatsu, but you are running a flourocarbon leader of some other line?

Could it be that the jagged rocks are home to zebra mussels? If so, no line will be of much use here.

I've only used Gamma leaders. Not reel fill line.

Nope, no zebra mussels, I'm just constantly grinding the rocks deep cranking.

The P line CX leader is tougher than main line fluoros, so I use about 3' of it, and that gives me a few re ties. Once it's out, I just connect it to the Tatsu with double uni knots.

I tried Gamma and didn't care for it.  Tatsu on the hand, is the best line I have ever used.  Up to this year, I had a reel that had 10lb Tatsu on it for 4 years.  The line was still good but the spool was getting low.  I am re-spooling that reel for the first time this year with the same 10lb Tatsu.

IMO, Gamma is more abrasion resistant, but less manageable. Tatsu has been the better all around line and isn't as expensive as Gamma. For deep cranking and abrasion resistance, I just go with a good copolymer though.
