So are the house brand fluorocarbon lines from Cabelas (Mike McClelland on the package) and Gander Mountain (Dean Rojas on the package) the same thing as Sunline Sniper?

I'm in love with Sniper and would love to see it be the same thing as the mentioned lines, for $ sake.

That would be nice. I'm pretty sure it's 400yds for $20.

Way stiffer than Sniper (Gander Mtn), the diameters make it closer to Super FC.

I saw the x50 on sale and was wondering the same thing.

I just got a spool of the new Cabelas no vis in 20lb.  Haven't used it yet but the diameter is pretty small for being 20lb.  I imagine it will be similar to Seaguar red label, which is good because I like that cheap stuff in 17lb plus.  I'll give it a try this weekend and report back.

I'd be shocked if any retail box store brand flouro would be even close to the quality of Sniper, regardless of who's picture is on the label.

It's a legitimate question not because of who endorses the product but simply because it is manufactured by Sunline and as far so the price is concerned it's not cheap. It's not expensive, either, but not cheap.

Didn't think it wasn't a legit question! I didn't know that it was made by Sunline.

I answered the OP's question thinking it was made by a different company using different materials.

I just saw some at Cabelas $20 for 200yds.  The Gander stuff is cheaper.

I understand.  I was just pointing out why he asked the question.

BTW, the only GM line I've used is their mono that I got for free, but it's legit.  No issues after one season of heavy use on light topwater.

I looked at the Gander fluoro in the store and compared it to Invizx.   It's diameter is bigger per any given size.  I left with the Invizx.

If I want to use Sniper, I'm paying the extra couple dollars to get Sniper.

Yup, diameter is bigger.  I'm using Gander 10# fluoro right now and it has about the same diameter as 12# Invizx.  I don't have any complaints with the line yet though.  It's a little stiffer than Invizx but also has a little less stretch (IMO).  I apply KVD L&L the night before a fishing trip and haven't had any line management issues, and the knots hold well.  So far so good.  For someone looking for an "economy" fluoro, at $20 for 400 yards it's definitely worth a try.

(FWIW, I just recently used Sniper 10# as well and thought it handled/casted a little better than the Gander 10# fluorocarbon.)

I use 6#, so in theory I would have needed 4# Gander Fluoro and it doesn't exist to my knowledge.
