I'm currently looking at getting either a Lowrance 3x or a Humminbird 197c.  What's y'alls opinions on them? Also are there any other depth finders in this price range I should check out?  I'll be in an 8 foot inflatable so the screen doesn't need to be huge and GPS isn't necessary.

Garmin Striker 4.  Color, chirp, DownVu, standard sonar, gps. $119.99

Where havs you seen the Striker with DV for $119? I would be all over that. I can't find it for less than $179. Standard sonar unit is $119 all over but the down view is always more.

If you have $100 to spend, go ahead and hit up ebay or follow the classifieds on various forums and score a used one.

The striker 4DV is price locked at $179.99. If you see one cheaper, you better question the seller because garmin sets the price that it has to be sold at and selling for less breaches their contract.

Oh bummer, I was hoping you knew something I didn't. I would have jumped on it.

PS: The Lowance Elites/Hooks are nice units. I have the 5" and love it. Havent had a Humminbird in 15 years so can't offer an opinion on those.

I have an older black and white Lowrance x37tx for sale. $45 shipped.
