JGBassinAL Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Which of these would you use for smaller crankbaits (1/4 oz)? I can get both for pretty much the same price and both are 5.8:1 gear ratio which is what I want. I have all Shimanos and the fact that I'm considering a Daiwa hurts, but I have heard great reviews about the Alphas SV105 so I'm just seeing what you guys think. If the Daiwa is the better tool for the job then I will buy it, but if they are about equal I will stick with Shimano. Quote
fisherrw Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 i personally like the feel of the Aldebaran better but there both good reels i checked out both at the fred hall show in long beach last week Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 9, 2016 Super User Posted March 9, 2016 I have the Alphas, never fished the Aldebaran. That said, the Alphas is great but it isn't going to blow your doors off or anything. If you're a Shimano guy, stick with the Alde. Quote
JGBassinAL Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Thanks guys I'll go with the Alde. I already have a Core 50 so I know I like that platform. Quote
