I saw a lot of this on another forum, but I haven't seen an all-encompassing post on this site for it. 2016 looks to be a huge year for Shimano, and a handful of Hagane styled reels will be coming out. Here's a list with pictures.

That scorpion...

wonder what the point if the canen is....thought the casitas took its spot . You're looking at maybe a 20$ price difference?

I agree. Plus they're both 150 sizes so there's no difference in line capacity. I'm still intrigued by the new Caenan because it looks sooo much cooler than the last one. The maroon and silver was ugly!

Yep, looks like they decided to bring back the Bantam name... Nice little marketing ploy

My lord that Scorpion is beautiful. Definitely going to have to get that reel although I'm not the biggest 50 size fan.

Does the new Metanium MGL mean that the 2013 Metaniums will be discontinued? If so I may pick up a couple if they go on sale.

Really interested in the Antares DC depending upon weight and size of the frame. Also I prefer the looks of that Metanium in all silver over the 13 Met. And that Bantam rod looks great. Paired with that new Metanium would be pretty slick looking.

I am 50/50 on the Scorpion and Curado I in the 70 size. Kind of tired of red and black but it always looks good together.

Shimano is setting the bar high with a diverse lineup of reels, frames, etc.

Theres already videos on the Bantam rod and lure line up on youtube as well as the Met MGL. It has a new spool design and new SVS infinity design like the one used in the Casitas. In the video the guy was casting a long ways with the MGL. Heres a pic of the spool

Does anybody know if they are releasing any more rods?

They have a new Poison Glorious lineup being released. The Antares DC is also being released in low and high gear models.

Wish they would expand the Ultima lineup...

Any chance they would bring the Ultima or Poison Glorious lines to the States? Haven't bought a Shimano rod since the Gen 1 Cumara (still have 4 of these) and Cumulus. Nothing they have sold in the US has really interested me.

I'll bet the Ultima would be over $700 if it was sold over here.

That isn't the news I wanted to hear! I am in the market for roughly 3 new rods. Decided to go custom for one but I am waiting on this Bantam rod to see if it could be a worthy option.

Not unless Shimano brings something stateside that I actually like;)

I have the spinning 7'2 ML Fast and and 7'2 Med XF drop shot rods. In the casting I have the 7'2 Med XF and 7'2 MH XF. Right now they aren't going anywhere!
