This will be my first year fishing as a co-angler at the club level. I hope to eventually start fishing as a co-angler in BFL's later on. Im looking into getting a Cabelas advanced angler tackle bag. I need some help deciding on getting the magnum or super magnum. I obviously want to be able to get as much stuff in the bag as possible but dont want to get something that is going to be obnoxiously big. I keep my spinnerbaits in a plano elite 3607 spinnerbait organizer and was hoping these would fit in one of the outside compartments. Do you guys suggest the magnum or super magnum? Also anyone that uses this as a co-angler any input would be greatly appreciated.

I use the magnum as a coangler and its huge. 3600 series plano fit easily in the side pockets. Since I've started using the slimmer 3701s, its ridiculous how much fits in the magnum. It should be all you need.

I also have the magnum, and it holds a ton. I also have the large enough 3600s(various models 3601,3600fto,and a 3630). With the outside pockets it holds more than youll need for a tournament, and takes up less space.

The Super Magnum will go from side to side in a pickup truck bed. After I bought the Magnum I found that even IT was too big .  I also bought a Large without the boxes and put in my own. That way you get exactly what you want .

I stock the Large with baits I will use for THAT  day/condition.

I pack EVERYTHING in the Magnum but rarely carry it since it must weigh 70 pounds

. By the way, I fish out of a Tracker Pro 16!!

Bumping this old topic , does anyone have the super magnum and can measure the bottom of the bag, the rubber part for me?  Need mainly the long dimension.

From their website. Sorry doesn’t list measurements of the rubber part exactly.  Man are these heavy even when empty. I took one magnum to the check out counter. Waited in line and told the woman to keep it. Large was too small....kind of a small day bag.

I ended up up picking up the fisherman’s series. It seemed to be in between the magnum and large and seemingly lighter. When using it I probably won’t use all of the boxes as I want room to for a jacket or food.

Super magnum bag, vacation only to carry stuff in one bag.

The width pocket to pocket, not stuffed full of stuff is about 28” and front pockets also not stuffed full of stuff to back of bag about 15”

bottom of of bag is about 24”wide by about 12” deep. Matches what previous poster had for main compartment.

In it I carry 5 Plano 4700guide series double decker boxes stacked. Two deep 3700 boxes on vertical along with a falcon trap box vertical. End pockets a 3600 box in each. Front pockets will have the double 3500 boxes in two of them. Also a tackle logic double worm wrap on top in the main compartment with bagged jigs and spinnerbaits.

Definately to to big for 16 foot boat on the water but great tool for packing gear for vacation. Oh yeah and it weighs a ton;)

I use to have a super magnum when I had my old bait without any storage. It's huge and can't imagine ever bringing that much gear as a co-angler to a tournament.
