I am curious if anyone has used or is currently still using this reel? How did you like it and what technique are you using it for?

I have two 50XTs - the JDM, somewhat upgraded, versions of the CT50B.  They have a measured IPT of about 17.5" - a bit faster than the book rating of 16" IPT for the CT-50B.

Uses?  I have one on a rod I use for chatterbaits, the other is on a cranking rod for slooooow cold-water cranking.  That 16" IPT on the 50B would be good for chatterbaits and slow cranking as well...

If you're interested in the 50B, I have a Calcutta 50 for sale on eBay. Mine has JDM parts and comes with 2 spools. The deeper spool is the same spool that the 50B comes with. I am begging someone to make me a fair offer for this nice little reel. My reel, because of my liking to spend money, will be a better reel than any 50B that you buy. My wife's eBay page is Lady2505

I have a CT50A that I use for slow rolling spinner baits, I find the 5.0:1 perfect for this technique!

I've worn out the paw but it was due to operator error because I stop it by engaging the reel instead of stopping with my thumb!

I used one for 10 years. Awesome little reels. Easy to palm, there's nothing stronger, tougher, in this size category. Highly reccomended.

Thanks for the info guys. I was offered one for a decent price but I was hard pressed to think of a use for it. My thinking is that I would be better off trying to find another Curado or Chronarch 50E.

Thanks again for you comments.
