I've recently got a St Croix legend elite (brown blank) and when I was checking it today I found there is a very bulky epoxy glue under the first guide (see pics). It doesn't make any sense to me for such a big drop of glue on a factory built rod and makes me wondering if the guide was been repaired. If someone has the same rod would you please check if for me please. Thanks in advance.

That looks about right.  I don't own a Legend Elite, but I do have two Legend Tournaments, and they have a similar bulge like that.  I don't worry about it too much.

Why would you not send the photo and question to St Croix?

To me it looks like less than great workmanship but not a functional problem.

It's called a football. Too much finish was applied and it bulges at the middle of the wrap. All manufacturers are guilty.

Every guide on this rod looked like this.
