Vlad Val Yevdash Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Hey guys I was wondering about this seaguar fluorocarbon line, I did some research says it's the best fluorocarbon, they have to different types invizx and abrazx. Have any of you used it thinking about buying some. Quote
clh121787 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 InvisX isnt bad but it's stretchy. Abrasive is less stretchy but more stiff. I prefer trilene 100% fc or shooter Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted November 13, 2015 Super User Posted November 13, 2015 8lb Invizx for spinning and Abrazx for baitcast gear is all i use Quote
lecisnith Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I was pretty happy with the red label before I switched to P-Line copolymer for all the applications I deemed appropriate. Quote
illinifan4152 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 8lb Invizx for spinning and Abrazx for baitcast gear is all i use This! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 13, 2015 Super User Posted November 13, 2015 Spinning: InvizX #8 Baitcasting: AbrazX #12 Quote
desmobob Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 In my experience, InvisX handles nicely but is very stretchy and has very poor abrasion resistance. It gets long slices and cuts in it from Zebra Mussels and pike/pickerel teeth. AbrazX is a little stiffer and much more abrasion resistant. I have switched to AbrazX for use as leaders on my braided lines. Tight lines, Bob Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 13, 2015 Super User Posted November 13, 2015 Red Label is excellent, inexpensive leader material...............but sucks as main line, as IMHO, all fluorocarbon is. AbrazX is also good (if not better then Red Label), and I have used it, but I like to keep the costs of my fishing down, and Red Label hasn't failed me yet, so I have seen no need to go to AbrazX.....no exp. with InvizX. BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 13, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 13, 2015 I use InvisX on my Senko rod. 15lb all the way (not as a leader). I haven't noticed any issues with abrasion, but then again, we don't have zebra mussels in my area. I really like the line. It doesn't have that coil memory that other FC lines have. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I was using braid for baitcasting but I switched to fluoro this spring. I started with 12# Invizx and liked the way it handled (I use KVD L&L) but I wasn't crazy about how stretchy it was and in my rocky river I needed something more abrasion resistant. Switched to 12# Abrazx about 2 months ago and have noticed less stretch than Invizx and much more abrasion resistance. And still handles well with the line conditioner. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Inviz X is my go to line. I have 8-15lb on all of my reels except my braided line. I've never had any problems with it or complaints. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted November 13, 2015 Super User Posted November 13, 2015 i have 8 and 12lb invizx and love it. also have some 15lb red label i use for leader material. have yet to try abrazx and though i want to, my wallet says i'm never trying tatsu.... Quote
sprint61 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I've used red label as a mainline for quite some time and I have no complaints at all. Quote
NathanW Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Seaguar is the only FC I buy anymore. Honestly I don't fish a lot of Invisx because Red Label essentially performs simillarly and is much cheaper. Invisx doesn't coil up the way that Red label does but RL is so cheap that I don't mind replacing it before it gets the chance to coil up. Abrazx is my favorite stiff line and is worth every penny when you buy the bulk spools. I am extremely happy with my line setup right now and dont expect to change anything...It looks like this 15-25# FC Abrazx 10-12# FC Red Label Floating Line: Suffix Siege Braid: Trilene Braid or Power Pro Spinning Rod Mainline 10-12#: Berkley Nanofil Quote
cottny27 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I like AbrazX for t-rigging and get it online from Walmart for $17.99 / spool for 12#. Free ship-to-store you can't beat it. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted November 13, 2015 Super User Posted November 13, 2015 Use InvizX for all my baitcasters and for leaders on my spinning. Quote
Vlad Val Yevdash Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 I'm going to get some tatsu fluorocarbon line #8 for my drop shot rod. Quote
baxtervol Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I like the red label and I have a friend who swears by Invis-x. However, I recently purchased some Stren flourocarbon and it seems to have less coil ups than Seagaur and is slightly less expensive. I haven't fished it long enough to judge it completely, but so far I really like it. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 14, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 14, 2015 I use both Red Label and InvisX and have had good success with both. I'd love to try Tatsu but can't bring myself to drop the money on it. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Give BPS Flouro a try. I have been using it on my baitcasters on the Potomac for 10 years and find it great line in 12, 14 and 17#. Buy it on sale each year. Never a failure. Quote
thirtysixit Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I'm a red label guy...... Its really good up to 15lbs. After that its too rigid and doesn't cast as well. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted November 14, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 14, 2015 I used Invisex for about 2 yrs and just tolerated the stretch. Other than that I liked it and had no reason to change until I tried a spool of Sniper. That was it for Invisex Mike Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 15, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 15, 2015 I know Tatsu isn't really part of this conversation, but man....wow! Great stuff! I have at least one spinning outfit (6lb) and one baitcaster (15lb) spooled up with at all times. Quote
BigSkyBasser Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Is your spinning outfit a finesse/drop shot oriented set up Glenn? I'm planning on trying it out this year because I have problems with coil memory on Invisx and I'm looking at either Tatsu or P-Line Halo. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 8, 2016 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 8, 2016 Yes, it's a dropshot/splitshot outfit. 7' med-light action rod. Quote
