Super User BassinLou Posted October 15, 2015 Super User Posted October 15, 2015 my son tried to register on the site and it said the community could not accept his email, any help appreciated That's a Moderator question. I am sure Glenn can walk you through this. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 15, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 15, 2015 I presume he was trying to use a hotmail, msn, live, or outlook email. Microsoft has blocked emails from the forum because they think it's spam. I've spoke to them about it, but they will not budge. Apparently some forum members marked their notifications as "spam", and that's what Microsoft uses as their reasoning. Quote

That must have happened within the last 6 months..I stopped getting emails from the site and only get maybe 1 out of 10..I use hotmail for this site. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 16, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 16, 2015 I reduced the amount of notifications by default as a result of too many people marking them as "spam". You can go into your profile and turn them on again; but they're off by default now. I figure if people manually turn them, then they're expecting them and won't think they're spam. It won't fix the hotmail/msn/live/outlook issue above, but at least will prevent further problems with other email providers. I've blocked all registrations by those email services because the user will not get the confirmation email. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted October 16, 2015 Super User Posted October 16, 2015 Cool! Thanks Glenn! Quote
