Hey all,

New to the site but longtime lurker. Recently got back into bass fishing. I grew up fishing Southern VT, so i'm relatively new to the waters around Burlington.

Ive been kayak fishing Malletts bay a lot this summer with moderate luck. Shelburne Pond has been good. Bite got real tough last month so I got to researching some new spots via Google Maps. Tried a few small ponds near where I live with little luck.

Though I have a kayak, I really enjoy bank fishing as well. Any tips on good bank fishing spots around the Burlington Area? Also any spots you can access with a kayak? Im finding there aren't many good places to put the boat in with good spots within reasonable paddling distance (that I know of).

Any help is appreciated!

I used to work at Basin Harbor Clib in Vergennes. Otter creek gets loaded with smallies in June when they spawn. Great shoreline fishing then. But launch your 'yak and head to to waterfalls for some awesome year round fishing. I never spent much time in Burlington, but Champlain itself is legendary. Have fun!

My camp is in Rochester,vt a few minutes to the white river. About 20 minutes to where the white river starts in the national forest up behind the bowl mill access road. To catch native trout you need to crawl up the the stream.

Lake Dumore isn't far from me too just over the mountain on rt73 through Brandon gap. I've heard of a gravel pit nearby to fish too. Years ago the true facts were 20" Brown trout near the golf course on rt100. Haven't fished there much but hoping to spend my final days up there.

My family has been hunting in Granville at matsons farm since the 6 0's. I went bear hunting in 73 and fell in love with the area. The area hasn't changed even today it's the same. I like that.

My kids could shoot bbq guns at soda cans no neighbors to complain. Freedom

Plenty of places around Burlington to launch your kayak and catch bass. I moved to VT about 4 years ago. Just keep on fishing ponds until you find one you like. There are plenty of hidden gems and lunkers to be caught.
