Hey guys I'm just looking into tournament angling and I was wondering what your opinions were on the best 250$ combo would be? I will be purchasing 4 baitcast combos as I already have a baitcast and a spinning combo I'm eyeballing the shimano citica I paired with the dobyns fury. Thanks

I'm guessing you are planning to spend $1000 for your new tackles. To me it doesn't need to be four $250 combos. Spend more on your bottom contact rod and less for moving baits.

Like the above poster, I would spend more on the bottom contact rod, and less on the moving baits. Use the Labor Day sales!

4 Omens and 4 Curados or Citicas. But if your lefty and want a 5:1 for crankin you're gonna need to get a older model Chronarch. I'm bias to both brands. Love em! There are many great brands in same price range though others will chime in.

7'6 MH or H fast with a 7:1 pitching flipping

7'1 MH fast with a 7:1 Worm and Jig

7'0 +/- M or MH moderate with a 5:1 stuff with trebles

6'6-6'10 M Fast with a 6:1 top water, flukes, senkos

Edit* after thought if your just starting out tourneys you're only gonna be bringing 4-5 rods with you to begin with if you're a co angler so you're gonna want to be able to cover many bases without getting too technical.

I'll say something slightly different in the sense that, for bottom contact baits get a more expensive rod and a decent reel. Moving baits get a nice reel and a lesser rod maybe $100 or possibly less on the rod.
