fish stick Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Looking for a decent trout site that isn't all about fly fishing. If anybody knows of any, being that I use a spinning set up, I would appreciate your thoughts Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 20, 2015 Super User Posted August 20, 2015 you are gonna have a tough time finding that i am afraid as i would bet well over half if not 3/4 of dedicated trout fisherman are also fly fisherman. Quote
FinCulture Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I'd also like to know this. By the way "fish stick", if you do some research there are ways to fish certain flies such as a dry fly on spinning gear that you can learn and apply to the fly fishing forums to make you a better spinning gear trout fisherman. FinCulture Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 or depending on your type of fishing, you could pick up a fly rod and learn something new very true. I would love to get into fly fishing but the money just isn't there for me at the moment. I love trout! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 21, 2015 Super User Posted August 21, 2015 Salmon Crazy. Lots of spin and pinners there. 1 Quote
Rob96 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I started experimenting using flies with a spinning reel and casting bubbles. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted August 21, 2015 Super User Posted August 21, 2015 I started experimenting using flies with a spinning reel and casting bubbles. I can't tell you how many times I would take the rear treble off of a popper and tie on a number 10 or 12 Adams or coachman and target both bass and panfish on a baitcaster on those slow days. Works great! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 24, 2015 Super User Posted August 24, 2015 Here you go, once you go float fishing, few return. Look up shot patterns docs: http://www.raventackle.com You can do this with a spinning, bait cast, or center pin. Tie a fly on, bead, power bait or worm, egg sac, all works. Quote
Anantha Patel Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 This is on ultralight spinning gear. Great journals. http://spin4trout.tumblr.com With the arrival of the "trout magnets" at Walmart, there are a lot of spin fisherman for trout. Fly fishing is dying. I found another blog with a lot of content, but I can't remember it. 1 Quote
