Thinking of getting one for my 15'fishers flat bottom, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with one on a Jon boat type.

I have a 1990 nitro 17.5 weighs 1098lbs dry was wonder if it would work on my host as well. Cheaper than a real powerpole.

I have one on my Tracker 1542, and I like it a lot. 8.5' "spike" I trust it to anchor me in about 7' of water easy no matter what's on the bottom. My only complaint about it is, that it makes it hard to go under low bridges repeatedly. I've had mine for about 9 months now, and it is a little weird in the way it responds to my key fob. I'm really hoping that it's just the battery going bad, since I got it new on ebay and don't know if they'll accept it for a warranty claim. Overall a great product and one of few things I can say does help me catch more fish. It may or may not be for you depending on the waters you fish. One lake I fish it's useless and it only helps once I get blown on shore, and if I use it as a push pole on flats. Most of my waters here are shallow and that's when it shines for flipping, and windy days when I want to pick an area apart. Its extremely quiet also. Durability wise, I smacked it on one of those low bridges I was talking about at 25 mph and it kicked back on the mount 100% unharmed. My buddy also took off with it anchored one time fast enough so the mount kicked back and sent my gopro flying off. That's another plus is I can mount a Gopro on the top easily.

I just thought I'd update this since on my initial post I said it wasn't responding correctly to my key fob. It was just a battery issue. Couple dollars for new batteries and it works flawlessly. So, no issues with durability or build quality from me. I was playing with it in my back yard and it's strong. If I unstrap the boat from the trailer it's able to pick up my boat (240 pounds) with my motor (150 pounds) off the trailer on dry land a little bit. I guess it gets smart and decided to put it back down on the trailer after a second. I'd imagine if it does that it would anchor some of the 16 foot aluminum bass boats in the water and maybe even slightly bigger boats. You can also adjust the anchor strength of the unit for a bigger boat.
