Djman72 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 low light conditions - Pop-R Brighter conditions - Zoom Trickworm in bruised banana or green pumpkin w. red fleck If swampy - replace the Pop-R with a Hollowbody Frog 1 Quote
NCBassAssassin Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I caught my last 2 PB's on a white spinnerbait, and both within the last month Quote
kcdinkerz Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 When the water is murky/stained and grass is present I throw a chatter bait. But my go to lure is a Texas rigged worm by banglures. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted July 26, 2015 Super User Posted July 26, 2015 So far my best summer lure has been the HB frog. In the last 3 months I've caught 50 LMB's frogging. (3 month's to me equates to only 5 outings). The frog fishing has been awesome with heat and all. 1 Quote
Bass2124 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 As my previous post has alluded to.....The Yamamoto 4" grub hands down. Quote
BucketMouth15 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Square bill and frog... This is in Michigan though water temps only in the 70s I'm guessing Quote
Dennis1972 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This was a good evening, i finally got some top water action, i caught about 8 LMB in about 2 hours. biggest was 20" smallest was about 14. cant figure out how to post pics on this site yet. Quote
poisonokie Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I have never had any luck with topwater lures. I stay true to my jigs most of the time but when the jig fishing is slow I need some more things to go to. Topwater looks like it would be awesome to catch lots of fish on but I just haven't had much luck at all. Maybe I'll look into some to buy. Any suggestions? Zara Spook, hula popper 1 Quote
greentrout Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'm in Texas. Hotter than a firecracker here right now. I use a Zoom Trick Worm in Green Pumpkin, just one I use, draggin' it real slow. The Zoom Finesse Worm in Watermelon with Red is killer, too. Work it real slow. 3/16 to 1/4 oz. on baitcaster with 10 or 12 lb. test or 1/8 oz. with spinning and 10lb. test. Worms can go anywhere. You can drag 'em, hop 'em and swim 'em. All work in the Summer time. Never saw any need to use anything else.. The Old School Basser... 1 Quote
singlecoil Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 It's always hot here in S.E. New Mexico in the summer time . This week is predicted to be 103 for the next 6 days so summertime I use topwater baits, Damiki Rambler 120 and a Cavitron buzzbait in the mornings and evenings. Rest of the time is a Texas rigged worm. Tore them up yesterday on a T-rigged red shad trickworm. 1 Quote
