I remember seeing ads in Florida Sportsman Magazine I guess back in the early 80's of guys using Shimano baitcasters catching sharks and I had to have one. It wasn't too long after that that I got my first Shimano baitcaster. 1 Quote

tennsopher Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I actually had that reel at one time the shark add sold me lol.As I remember it was built like a tank and casted about the same.My first baitcaster was a pflueger supreme that had toothpaste put in the gears and hooked to a power drill to smooth them out.Anybody remember that trick?I later bought my own first free spooler a red abu 5000a.First low profile was Daiwa sm2a hawked at that time by none other than Bill Dance.Time flies. 2 Quote
