Yo-Zuri Fluorocarbon/nylon Blend Hybrid

Ever since fluoro hit the market I've tried to accept it as another tool to use as it has it's advantages over mono, but I've grown to absolutely despise the stuff.  Last fall I picked up a spool of this blend from Yo-Zuri and I gotta say I'm really impressed.  I used it a few times last season, but I've really put it through the conditions I would use fluoro in if I didn't hate the stuff so muchon my last few outings..  Anyway, I think I have found a place for the Yo-Zuri in my 'tool box.'  This is a great cranking line and outshines mono on my tubin' gear. The things I'm really impressed with are the knot strength and sensitivity.  I have a tendency toward a very zealous hook set and that was the downfall of fluoro  for me.  Not a problem now. I did my 'cross her eyes' hook set on a couple of 3+lb. girls and not only did the knot not   break, the sensitivity factor was the reason for my recognition of the first fish. The pick-up of my tube was so subtle, I doubt I would have detected it with mono. Manageability is still a downside as this stuff is on the stiff side, but a little KVD line conditioner and it became manageable.

For those of you that have given up on fluorocarbon lines, this could be an alternative.  It even comes in an 'Ultra Soft' version that I haven't tried, but my ultra light is looking to get some 6lb. on it soon.  (yea, I know 6lb. isn't exactly ultra light, but any thinner and I can't see to tie the stuff)

I use Yo-Zuri all the time. Never had a problem with it and it is extremely strong. KVD line treatment does wonders on it.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid is an excellent all around - LOW STRETCH - and extremely strong co-polymer line.  It stretches less than any fluorocarbon line (I've tested many) and it is stronger, and better knot strength than flouro.   Reviews on this line are consistently very high, however, the Ultra-Soft has not been received quite as well...

i just started using the super soft on my spinning rod and after one outing, I am impressed.  It is definitely a stretchier line than i am used to but that may be because i am used to braid.

Hybrid is a great line for all-around fishing

in my book. I have tried UltraSoft, but don't

really like it as much....

Outside of braid, Yozuri hybrid is the line I use.  It's cheap, tough, and if treated with line conditioner, will last for a long while.

I really like this line in 8,10 and 12lb test.  I tried the 15lb once and hated it. Even with line conditioner I couldn't get it to behave.

I run hybrid 12-15 on all my freshwater rods and ultrasoft 15 on my inshore rods.

Its all I buy. Has been for years. Can't imagine being happier.

I still like FC but I do use Hybrid on a couple of set ups.  It is great line.  I find it does not last as long as FC.  The abrasion resistance is good but not great. FC might be slightly more sensitive but is marginal.   Like stated above it is stiff but can easily be remedy with KVD line conditioner.   

 

I have also used Ultra Soft.  It seems anything less than 10lb had breaking issues.

I bought some 12, 15, and 20lb for various applications. A little stiff above 15lb, but very good line for reaction techniques. I haven't flipped with it or used it for finesse techniques. I'll stick with braid and fluoro for that.

Yep, yozuri hybrid is some good stuff. I been using 6lb for freshwater and inshore use on flounder and weakfish, and I don't worry about being undergunned at all. I can put some pretty good pressure on the fish, but also light enough to be fun as well.

other brands, this is a staple in my line-up.
