EvanT123 Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I was tying a lure on and had a butter fingers moment dropped the rod and snapped 1 1/2 off the tip. Really sad thing was it was the first rod I ever built. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 25, 2015 Super User Posted May 25, 2015 Was it really necessary to post that your 55" Cuda fought longer than any LMB that ever lived? If I have interpreted your post as just another one of your snide remarks directed at the LMB, on a Bass Fishing Forum, then I sincerely apologize. Just means a longer fight with a fairly heavy fish won't do any damage or hinder the landing. Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I used braid today for the first time.. I loved it. Then my trolling motor quit. It was very windy and my canoe got pushed into a drop rock shore line. Bam Bam Crunch.. Thought I was going over. I ended up smacking the motor up side the head and it started.. LMAO. Quote

The much harder fight with missing the guide answers the OP's question, with overkill LOL 1 Quote
John G Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Just means a longer fight with a fairly heavy fish won't do any damage or hinder the landing. And the "by no means a 60 seconds or less battle" wasn't directed at the LMB?My official contribution to the Thread is that I have missed guides on a rod and the levelwind on the reel. It actually took a few cast before I noticed that I missed the levelwind on the reel. 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 26, 2015 Super User Posted May 26, 2015 And the "by no means a 60 seconds or less battle" wasn't directed at the LMB? All kinds of fish can be landing in 60 seconds or less, people come down to FLA to battle peacocks, it won't take 60 seconds to land the majority of them. 60 seconds is actually quite a bit of time to land fish, I've landed snook and redfish in less time than that, it all depends on size and the kind of water your fishing. The 55" reference is only to amplify that having something larger that takes longer to land won't hurt the rod. 1 Quote

WPCfishing Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Here's a classic.Twice I've had a rood fly out of my hands while casting. The release locked in the middle of the cast and see ya later.. Quote

John G Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 My eye's are worse than your eyes. Sometimes, I wear readers AND a headlamp to tie a knot when I am in the house. We do have lights but my eyes really suck at close range and they are getting worse. Quote
