a1712 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I'm not a big Smallie fisherman, all my Buds are. One of my friends, who own's Backroom Baits, ask me to go with him to Field Test some new colors of baits. I took him up on it and the trip was a success. We fished a section of River we were both unfamiliar with. We ran several miles upstream getting a feel for it and waypointing some areas that looked promising. We ended up with 28 fish in 4 hours and none under 2lbs.. I don't know what it weighed or how long it is, I just know I've never caught a Smallie this big before, don't fish for them very often. Brian. 5 Quote

Steveo-1969 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Oh my goodness, that's a pig! Congrats on your PB, I think she could eat my PB smallmouth!!!! I noticed your location is PA, but your favorite river is the Potomac. Did you catch this on the Susquehanna? Or the Potomac? Or neither? Not looking for secret spot, just curious... Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted April 24, 2015 Super User Posted April 24, 2015 Sweet Bronze back. Congrats on your PB. And if you don't ever measure or weigh any of your fish, you can probably have a PB every trip. A-Jay 1 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Ah, Juniata. I've got a buddy in PA that has been after me to fish the Susky with him. I gotta take him up on the offer! Congrats again!!! BTW: I googled "Backroom Baits" and didn't see a website. However, the results it did give me were NSFW. ;-) Quote

I can't put you at a ramp, I was a guest, but not very far. That River is much overlooked, due to the Susquahanna being so good. Brian. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted May 3, 2015 Super User Posted May 3, 2015 Not only is it big, but it's got really nice colors! Absolute beautiful fish, nice catch! Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Juniata. You being from Falling Waters, you fish Sleepy Creek any? Brian. Hi Brian, sorry I missed your question before. I've fished Sleepy Creek twice this spring in my buddy's boat. We have one 12" LM to show for it. Just couldn't find them or make them bite. We fished it several times last year as well and caught some little LM, biggest maybe 2#. I did catch a 30" northern pike up there last year though, that was fun! Quote

I did catch a 30" northern pike up there last year though, that was fun! I fished it one time last Fall on a miserable day, cold and monster wind. We caught fish at every place we thought should hold fish. Nothing noteable size wise, but had a super day considering the conditions. I'll have to take a trip down there in the next few weeks. You going along, I have an open seat? Brian. Quote
